South African champion Isivunguvungu is one of 13 runners entered in the Van Clief Stakes, to be run at Colonial Downs this Saturday.The Van Clief is a five furlong event to be run on turf.

His connections had the following to say about their champion.

It took a while for him to get over his trip to Dubai and hopefully the race at Monmouth has moved him forward. He has done well in the last three weeks and seems more like his old self. Quite a few of the horses in this race ran in Kentucky last weekend. It is great to have John Velazquez on board. The whole of South Africa will be shouting him home, and we hope for a promising performance!
