The remarkable Gordon Lord Byron has died at the age of 12.Trained by Tom Hogan, the horse passed away suddenly during exercise this morning.The hugely popular veteran won 16 of his 108 career starts, including three races at Group 1 level in England, France and Australia.His career was a true racing fairytale. He cost just £2,000 and suffered a life-threatening injury to his pelvis on his racecourse debut.But he was nursed back to health and went on to earn just shy of £2 million in prize money during a brilliant, globe-trotting career.
